Barry:
I’m Barry and this is my wife, Sandra. We own Global Pet Foods here in Grand Prairie. We started back in 2008 and in 2013 we moved to our new location.
Sandra:

Barry:
Business was good. We honestly did become somewhat complacent in the business. And we felt we did need a hand to get over the complacency.
Sandra:
We needed to up our game. We wanted to do something more. We were both getting a little bit, let’s say, discouraged and just not feeling like we got it. What are we doing? Where we need to do something more. And then we decided to hire him.
Barry:
We do role playing with our staff and with ourselves as well, which really teaches all of us a lot. It’s kind of fun in one sense, too. You come in, you’re kind of the grumpy customer that comes in and goes straight to what you want. And then it makes everybody else have to step up their game to make you focus on other issues and other items that you need to benefit your animal.
Sandra:
The staff has all come on board with Al as well, and that makes a big difference too, is if you’ve got a staff that’s going to come on board with us and without, and help the business as a whole.
Barry:
We also did try to coach in the past. We went to Allen because the other coach just honestly didn’t work out for our needs and necessities at the time. And Allen meets our needs and our necessities.
Sandra:
And goes above. He can be brutal sometimes, but that’s what you have to do, to be honest. Sometimes you don’t even realize that maybe you’re not doing something or you’re doing something that really is not good. That’s his job. And he does it very well.
Barry:
In the past and got us to do polls with our customer. Right. To find out what form of media represented the company in the best way. He definitely brought forward that we need to do polls with our customers. Don’t be afraid to ask them questions. Don’t be afraid to throw something out there and say, hey, did you hear about this? Did you like that? Did you not like that?
Sandra:
We’ve had fun doing some videos and now we want to get the staff involved, too, like Alan said, “Yeah, let’s get the staff involved too, and some of them. So people can see that we’re a local business, but we have fun and we trust our staff very much. And we just want to do the best that we can for their furry friend because we have a bunch of furry friends, too. And they are our family members.
